Human Body Systems Stations

This lesson was intended to be a broad overview for 9 human body systems that would help students determine body systems to choose for a two unit long project. The body systems included in this lesson are as follows: nervous, cardiovascular, integumentary, respiratory, muscular, skeletal, excretory, immune, and digestive.

Students traveled to 9 different stations in groups of 4. Students only had 8 minutes to complete a short reading going over the function and tissue types of each body system, look at histological slides, complete a short interactive activity or video and answer discussion questions, create a simile for the system function, and brainstorm how each system might interact with other systems.

At the end of the lesson, students completed an exit slip that told me 3 things students learned and 2 things they still had questions about.
